A special bottle of wine is always an appreciated gift for any wine lover. And as I’ve said many times before, presentation is a plus. For me, it expresses how I feel about the recipient. It says, you are special and worthy of the time and effort I’ve put into it to create something that is pleasing to the eye. Kind of like a gift that gives twice.
When someone tells me that they didn’t want to remove the gift wrap or embellishment because they didn’t want to ruin it, it makes me happy that they appreciated the presentation too.
The “how to” for this embellished wine bottle gift is very simple. If you can tie a knot, you've already mastered this design. You can find tulle…fine mesh netting fabric…at any fabric shop, or stores like Walmart that have a craft and fabric section. It’s relatively cheap and comes in every color you can think of. Some are even glittery if you want to get fancy.
As for the tag, you can tie on a ready-made one. Or you can print one like I did on the computer.
Tulle is about 57 inches wide. You'll need a piece about 10 to 12 inches long. I used a fine mesh tulle.
Gather up the 57 inches by the middle. Tie it around the neck of the bottle.
Gather one end together and trim to make the edges straight. Do it to the other side.
Attach a ready made tag, or print one on your computer. I glued the printed tag onto a black piece of paper. Punch a hole in the corner and attach it with a piece of ribbon.
