Since then I've made it a point to try new burger joints because my family loves burgers. I still enjoy a basic hamburger, but my tastes have definitely grown to relish the innovative and sophisticated versions you see on menus and in magazines.
Then came the sliders. What a great idea. So, here’s something my family thought of. We like a side of onion rings with our burgers, so why not just put it on the burger? Rather than melted cheese, we made parmesan crisps for a salty and crunchy addition. And of course, one of my favorite things in life is mayo, so I was happy to slather on a double helping. The kids wanted something with a kick, so they made a sriracha mayo.
You’re gonna need a big mouth for these appetizers. So, open wide and enjoy!
1 lb ground turkey
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 T parsley
8 T parmesan cheese
1/2 cup mayo
2 tsp. siracha
8 slider buns
8 frozen onion rings
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare parmesan crisps. On a parchment lined cookie sheet, put 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese in a pile. Flatten to form a round. Bake for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly then remove with a spatula. Set aside.
Mix all burger ingredients together. Form into patties the size of the bun. With one finger, make an indention in the middle of the patty. As they cook the indentation will keep the patty flat. Fry on a griddle until well done.
While patties are cooking bake frozen onion rings are directed on the package.
Mix siracha mayo ingredients together. Set aside.
Assemble the sliders:
Slather mayo on both sides of the bun. Place a turkey patty on the bun, topping each with lettuce, tomato slice, parmesan chip, then onion ring.
